Metal clay is a versatile medium consisting of an organic clay binder with fine particles of metals such as silver, bronze or copper embedded within it. It can be sculpted similar to clay and lends itself to detailed texture and form. When fired, the binder burns away and the metal particles fuse leaving solid metal pieces. The video below shows me using silver clay to mould and form a simple pair of earrings and pendant. My aim would be to deepend my practice, learn new skills and develop my technique to produce more detailed and complex sculptural and artistic pieces.
